Upcoming Talks on Stuttering and Disfluency in Bilingual Children
27 October 2025
November will be a busy and exciting month for our research group. Gizem Aslan will first travel to Bad Salzschlirf, Germany, to speak at Werkstattgespräche 2025 (13–16 November 2025), a long-established meeting for speech-language pathologists featuring lectures, workshops, and discussions. Her talk will explore how bilingualism influences speech fluency and the clinical challenges of distinguishing between typical disfluencies and stuttering in bilingual speakers.
Shortly after, Prof. Dr. Kurt Eggers and Gizem Aslan will open the new Language Lab webinar series organized by Foyer vzw with their joint presentation:
🗣️ “Stuttering or just (typically) disfluent? Diagnostical and therapeutical aspects to consider in bilingual children.”
📅 17 November 2025 | 🕘 9:00–10:15 AM (CET)
This session will bridge research and clinical practice, offering insights for those working with bilingual children who present with fluency concerns.
