Help advance stuttering research! We’re seeking persons who stutter, parents, caregivers, and (speech-language) therapists to join our studies. Sessions take place in our lab, at home, or online. Your insights can shape future understanding and treatment. Contact us to participate and make a difference!

Temperament and stuttering
We are investigating if the typical emotional reactions (temperament) differ between children who stutter and children who do not stutter. Additionally, our research aims to better understand the relation between specific temperament traits and stuttering itself.
Currently, we are recruiting participants for two related studies:
- Parents with preschoolers (ages 2-6)
This study involves completing a parental questionnaire about your child’s typical emotional reactions. - School-age children (ages 6-12)
Children will take part in a single session of approximately 90 minutes at the Speech Lab.

Bilingualism and stuttering
In this study, we investigate how attention processes contribute to speech disfluencies in bilingual children who do and do not stutter. The study consists of two sessions, each lasting approximately 90 minutes.
We are looking for bilingual children aged between 7 and 12 years who speak Dutch and either Turkish, Arabic, English, French, German, or any other language, with or without a diagnosis of stuttering, and without any other language, speech, or neurological disorders

Speaking situations and stuttering
This study is currently in development. Soon, we will investigate how different speaking situations influence speech disfluencies in adults who do and who do not stutter.
If you are interested in participating in the future, feel free to reach out, we will contact you once the study begins.
